Class 2 Driver (Sleaford)

Roles and Responsibilities

Located at our Southgate Branch, reporting to the Branch Manager and under the day-to-day supervision of the Yard Foreman; Class 2 Driver will be part of a team responsible for providing an effective and efficient service to customers; and supporting the Branch by assisting in sales, yard and transport operations. Duties will include:

· Local deliveries in one of our Class 2 HGV Hiab Vehicles

· Driving our 7.5t tipper lorry

· Loading our fleet of delivery vehicles ensuring that products are safely loaded and secured to minimise chances of damage.

· Preparing stock for delivery.

· Controlling movement of stock in and out of the yard.

· Keeping the yard areas tidy, accessible and in good operational order at all times

· Ensuring that company forklift trucks are driven in line with company and legal requirements.

· Assisting customers with collection of orders.

· Ensuring all stock is booked out prior to loading customer vehicles.

· Unloading all palletised deliveries and stock orders.

· Liaising with transport supervisor regarding expected deliveries from suppliers

· Providing first class customer service.

· Handling any customer issues in the yard effectively.

Person specification /Core competencies

· Full Driving licence for a Class 2 (Cat C) HGV vehicle with Digi-card and full Driver CPC is essential.

· Fork-lift licence would be an advantage.

· Hiab Experience preferable but not essential

· Excellent customer service skills.

· A flexible approach to work.

· Ability to form positive relationships with colleagues.

This is a full-time role; hours of work will be 7:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday (with 1 hour for lunch) and 7:30am to 12:30pm 1 in 2 Saturdays.
